A|P'S STORY

Alexandra Policaro, a dancer and health/fitness enthusiast, founded Accessible Practice
in 2020. Alex is a recent graduate of the University of
Southern California's Glorya Kaufman School of Dance with a BFA in Dance. Through her coursework and outside initiatives, Alex has obtained the skills and knowledge required to thrive as a performer, collaborator, and creator for a
creation-based repertory company, specializing in a contemporary field. Alex’s
mission is to cultivate a genuine practice while seeking to extrapolate her dance knowledge
through a historical and interpersonal lens in guiding her career as a dance artist and
educator.
While attending the Professional Performing Arts High School in New York City, Alex met
dance photographer and personal trainer, Kevin Richardson, who sparked her interest in
health and fitness. Mr. Richardson would soon become a mentor in guiding her toward the
creation of a health/fitness business of her own. Utilizing additional interests outside of
dance, Alex individualized her practice by incorporating familiar somatic applications (yoga,
Pilates, GYROTONIC® movement), and mindfulness techniques in creating Accessible Practice. The Accessible Practice website includes services that include personalized workout sessions, nutritional advice, mindfulness practices, and GYROTONIC® movement lessons. Accessible Practice also includes dance-specific content that shares Alex's personal experiences and knowledge.
Her goal is to inspire and educate individuals with varying interests such as the arts, athletics, or simply anyone interested in healthy living.
